If you ever think about music from Wales/Cymru you might think of a variety of artists in the realms of rock & experimental electronica - John Cale, Julian Cope, Datblygu, Gruff Rhys & the SFA's, Thighpaulsandra, Lustmord, 60 Foot Dolls, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, High Contrast, Cate Le Bon & the good ol' GLC, to name but a few. The Man band doesnt get too many mentions in the nation's catalog, which is a national travesty because, maaaaaaaan, could this crew rrrrrrrrock.

In Micky Jones, Britain had one of the few guitarists to not only develop intuitive lead-runs & an almost telepathic ability to conjure counter-point harmonics (usually attributed to legends like Jerry Garcia), but who could "tell it like it is". The rhythm section are juicy as f*ck too. Pure fur-lined heaviness where groove is the default option. Its a rich blend that can sway into Krautrock realms at times, then land like a cat in another zone entirely. Stick with peak-era gear, eg: tracks like " Many Are Called, But Few Get Up" right at the intersection of a myriad of styles. A crate digger's paradise awaits.
