American jazz alto saxophonist, born April 1938 in Modesto, California.
Led own band in San Francisco, then worked with Jon Hendricks 1965-1968, also playing with Miles Davis. After going to New York with Hendricks in 1968, he played with Elvin Jones, George Coleman, Woody Shaw and others. Recorded with Joe Lee Wilson 1975, Errol Parker 1976-1980, and Charlie Persip 1980, 1984.
