American rock backing vocal trio.
Hailing from from the towns of Andrews & Odessa, Texas. Ray Rush, [bDavid Bigham[/b] and Robert Linville. They appeared on Roy Orbison's early Sun recordings then became session backing vocalists at Norman Petty Studios from 1957 to 1959. They sang together on Buddy Holly's “It’s So Easy” and “Think It Over”. They also sang on Buddy Knox's "Somebody Touched Me" and "I Think I'm Gonna Kill Myself".
They released one 45 as "The Roses", then 2 with Don Lanier as "Don And The/His Roses". The Roses were the only backing vocalists to tour with Buddy Holly & The Crickets, including appearing on Alan Freed's "Biggest Show Of Stars" tour.
