American blues and jazz singer. Born November 11, 1920 in Champaign, IL. Died August 10, 1992 in Harlem, NYC.

Annisteen Allen started out on her music career i 1945 with songs like "Miss Allen's Blues" and "Love For Sale". After touring with Lucky Millinder, Wynonie Harris and Big John Greer for some time she was signed by Federal in 1951-and started making records with Lucky Millinder's Band. She signed with the parent label King in 1953 before moving on to Capitol in 1954 and touring extensively with The Orioles and Joe Morris. Allen Finally landed a hit in 1955 with "Fujiyama Mama", a number that was also covered by Eileen Barton and Wanda Jackson, among others.
