Amazing how Hong Kong and Taiwan pop and "rock" has a stranglehold on most representations of modern music culture of China: NO FRIGGIN' WAY ANY of the HK/TW music artists can touch Cui Jian in terms of creativity and originality; HECK, he's creator and innovator of music for all in the world, not just Chinese society; he's constantly composing and innovating his sound craft, and doesn't fall into any formulaic categories; you can hear influences from classic, ethnic-folk, rock, funk, jazz, hip-hop, electronica, and whole lot of stuff undefined and breakthrough from all expected norms in music genres from anywhere around the world... he is not only the "Father of Sino-Rock", but simply a leader of cutting-edge avant-garde rock music anywhere in the world! LONG LIVE "LAO CUI"!!! PEOPLE WAKE TF UP!!!
