Takashi Yasumi alias Kagami was definitely one of the kings of TeSco (Techno Disco) made in Japan. He started in the mid of 90s, and was become fastly one of the most important artists of Frogman Records. Europe discovers him for the first time in 1999, when Thomas Schumacher has released "Beat Bang Black" on his Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten, but the celebrity moment was in 2002, when many european DJs played "Perfect Storm", one of the tracks composed one year before for Wire event. In the same time some rumours say that Kagami will take part to International Deejay Gigolo, because DJ Hell like a lot his music and like to have his album on own label. "Tokyo Disco Music All Night", "Romantic Time Slip", "Tiger Track", the amazing "Mirror Ball Future Funk": these are examples how Kagami has mixed in an intriguingly flow the energy of Techno, the melodies from Disco and the slap notes of Funk. What I can say about his album "Star Arts" (2002) ? A full lenght totally full of creativity without any limits (the 2nd CD consists in whole first CD but played in reverse). We miss Kagami. I'm sure that now he plays music at high volume in the sky. R.I.P.
