David Rowbotham
Born 1958 in Didsbury, Manchester, UK.
Played guitar and bass with different Manchester bands in the 1970s and the 1980s. Founding member and guitarist of The Durutti Column, but soon left the band to found The Mothmen in 1979. Played guitar until 1982. Also founded The Motivation with ex-Buzzcocks bassist Steve Garvey.
Later worked as studio musician on various projects (e.g. Pauline Murray And The Invisible Girls.
Was found dead on November 8, 1991 having been murdered in his home near Manchester.
The track Cowboy Dave on Happy Mondays - ...Yes Please! is in his memory.
