Τόλης Βοσκόπουλος

Tolis Voskopoulos was a Greek easy listening/light laïkó initially & laïkó subsequently singer, songwriter, and actor. Born July 26, 1940, Kokkinia, Piraeus, Greece - Died July 19, 2021, Athens, Greece.
He met enormous artistic acclaim, earning the nickname "Πρίγκηπας" (Pringipas = Prince), while he is widely regarded as one of the most important singers to ever grace Greek music and as one of the greatest Greek performers of all time. He also starred in many films and played in the theatre in Athens.
He made his debut in the theatre in 1958, and in cinema in 1960. In 1962, he entered the discography with the single "Βήμα - Βήμα / Ξαστέρωσε Ο Ουρανός". He composed the song "Αδέλφια Μου Αλήτες Πουλιά", which was performed by Γιάννης Βογιατζής and won the first prize at the 9th Easy Listening Song Festival of Thessaloniki on 11 September 1970. In 1971, he helped Τζένη Βάνου re-establish her career.
From summer of 1970 to summer of 1973, he had a love affair with Ζωή Λάσκαρη (it was rumoured that he had composed the song "Ξανθή Αγαπημένη Παναγιά" for her). On 10 November 1973, he married his second wife, Μαρινέλλα; they divorced after eight years, in 1981. On 2 August 1996, he married his fourth (and last) wife, Άντζελα Γκερέκου.
