The original members were premier studio musicians/artists who later emerged as KILO (Stax 1979) The name EBONY WEB was created by Perry Michael Allen (keys/vocals) upon signing with Hi Records (Memphis) in 1970 for legal reasons. The group became very popular working as touring musicians for all of the Memphis R&B artists from both Stax & Hi and other studios. The group disbanded during the mid 70's, some members continued their recording careers playing/writing and arranging on other hit record projects.
The original group members featured here added new members and continued on to later celebrate a successful career of their own.
The other three original members (Perry Michael Allen-Ray Griffin-Terry Johnson) reunited as KILO in 1979 and produced the album KILO for Stax records, under the direction of David Porter(Pres.) I guess you could say Everybody's Happy .. BUSINESS IS BUSINESS ... Perry Michael Allen ( more information / gossip below)
