Isidore '(Red) Tuts' 'Papa Yellow' Washington. Versatile player with great knowledge of the blues underground in New Orleans. Associated with Red Cayou, started playing at 'fish fries' and in tonks. Later in local jazz bands. After World War II in California and St. Louis. Recorded with Smiley Lewis (New Orleans, 1950-2). Still active in New Orleans in 1970.
