These tracks have been around for ages so its nice to finally get them on vinyl. Painted smile is the one for me with a warm rolling bassline and deep piano line. Justified remix is another wicked track and is probably my favourite Spectrasoul tune along with Alibi on Critical.

For me, a highly anticipated release. Talk to Frank is one of my favourites on Metalheadz (Track C, The Perfect Blue METH072), and I also highly rate Double Double, so I was really looking forward to hearing Commix's latest workout on Metalheadz. The Spectrasoul Remix of Justified is a quality opener for the EP. Exquisitely produced, a 170bpm sort of split-tempo groover. Almost Dubstep, it rolls along nicely and will go in almost any set. One thing that did surprise me about this release, is that Painted Smile isn't available for download. Personally, I think it's the best track on the EP, the piano drifting in and out of the tune is very well done. Reminds me a little of Your Move by Scar. Quality track. Looks like I will have to rip the vinyl to listen to the MP3 in my car. No great shakes though. Generation is a strange track. There's some really high end going on throughout the track and after a couple of minutes it really starts to get irritating. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I will listen too much to it in future. That's ok though because the other two tracks are so strong. In my humble opinion, this is a real heavyweight release, and a welcome return for Commix. Justified and Painted Smile are two of my favourite tracks at the moment and I think I will be playing them a lot over the next few months. I might even have to splurge on the T Shirt from MH for this release. Solid Gold.
