Sasha's Xpander EP was and still is the epitome of the progressive house genre in 1999.

Every track is intellectually layered, with multiplicity of dynamic sounds only to be understood + appreciated after repeated listening sessions.

Sasha was undoubtedly at the top of the electronic music.

A classic for prog-house lovers, and a must for any electronic music collection.

If you have this on vinyl then play "Baja" at 45rpm and if you have on CD or MP3 play on your cdjs faster.
I think ti sounds far better at twice the speed, imo.

I agree xpander does not sound like little bullet live mix.On Charlie May's album "mayhem volume 1" the sleeve notes say "Sasha tasked May with engineering a new version of an unreleased Spooky track xpander", so if that's correct then it seems like it was more Charlie May's work, but obviously he was happy for it to be credited to Sasha.

Heard Xpander for the first time when Taucher mixed it into Bedrock's Heaven Scent on Tillmann Uhrmacher's MaxiMal show. Both tracks were a revelation; but as UK progressive house wasn't marketed in Germany, the EP was hard to get. Got my hands on the CD version 3 years later on a vinyl/CD bazar - I couldn't believe that I could have THAT much luck! And then, some months later, I left a box with ten of my favourite, partially rare, discs in the bus after school. I never saw the box again. Imagine my relief when I discovered that this disc was in my discman at the time and that i forgot the sleeve at home that day!
Since then, it is that very special item in my collection. Each track is great - an essential ep as asot7 said!

I like the 4 tracks in this EP, but Xpander is the master piece of this LP, when you listen this tune, you can feel all the melodies ans beats, the main sound is just amazing!! for me is a masterclass record, obiously I remember his roots - Spooky "little bullet" "live" mix.

Not much needs to be said about one of the best progressive trance EPs of all time. People focus on Xpander, but all four tracks on this release are great in their own right.
