Spring 2018, Goddys release the self-named single online via Ponyphone Records and achieve international attention. The single is played by various online radios and podcasts.
In the following time, the band works on their first record Ambrosia, which comes out on June 28th 2019.
Since the band met Ricardo Pacheco at a party, a lasting collaboration begins. The portuguese artist provides the artwork for single and album. The fairytale style with psychedelic colors and narrative structures fits in between the musical mix of blues, hard, psychedelic, garage and modern alternative rock.
With the album the band produced the music video for the title track Ambrosia in collaboration with director and cinematographer Chris Miera.
The Band performs in the Garden of Eden, while they show the controversial case of a society that neither questions where their favorite product comes from, nor whether it is good for their well-being.
The band name Goddys stands in a figurative sense for the wonderful in the imperfect, as well as the fallibility of mankind. The name connects God and dys (Greek: deviating from the norm). The texts are full of contrasts of human nature with their needs, strengths and weaknesses. Humorous, sad and disturbing at the same time, everyday emotions and events are recorded and processed musically and lyrically.
