Studio located in Hollywood, California, USA. Built in 1917 as the Charlie Chaplin Film Studios, the studio was owned by CBS from 1957 to 1967, where it was used for television production. It was purchased by Jerry Alpert and Herb Moss as the headquarters for A&M Records in 1968. The property was closed in 1999 after parent company PolyGram merged with Universal Music, and it was purchased in 2000 by The Jim Henson Company and renamed Henson Recording Studios.

The studio started with the engineers Larry Levine, Ray Gerhardt, Henry Lewy, and Dick Bogert. Bernie Grundman worked there in the early years, who later founded Bernie Grundman Mastering Studio. Alan Yoshida worked there for 8 years as a mastering engineer. Steve Mitchell (2) was another long time staff engineer.
