This, as with most Japanese vinyl, is the go to pressing. Stunning audio quality.

a real masterpiece, which stands the test of time, it is simply timeless. jon hassell and brian eno was a perfect team to exploring new unheard sounds and textures, very atmospheric and much deeper than most of the worldmusic and ambient records out there. it is also my favourite album of the 4th world series. delta rain dream is a standout track, haunting, emotinal, atmospheric, deeeep...it sounds like a real album, although there are a lot of different musicians on the tracks. a kind of ethno ambient jazz, no other record sounds like this one, it is really unique.
funfact: i have a vinyl copy of eno's music for films, which has the first side of this record on side 2....a false pressing. i was happy to find these tracks here.

Very interesting, otherworldly music, with heavily treated trumpet and the usual strong ambient vibes from Eno.

Ancient urban environments rich in interconnections, full of intricacies and inhabited by keepers of tradition.

RIP Jon Hassell. This was a groundbreaking ambient jazz album!

Absolute masterpiece. Five stars. Hard to believe it’s 40 years old. Listening to it now to ring in the new year while my neighbors shoot off fireworks.

I first heard this record maybe a couple of years after it came out. Hassell would be one of my desert island artists. His sound is like no other, like the Fohn wind or spirits keening, drifting in the night sky. The comment about annoying trumpet made me laugh! It takes all sorts :-)

Sounds like the soundtrack to a Super Nintendo jungle platformer/fantasy RPG.

Very good reissue. My feeling always was, that this music doesn't need a trumpet. Would like to hear a remix without it. Wonderful percussion -and synthwork buried under annoying trumpet. Exeption: Delta Rain Dream

Very clean pressing & appears to be 180 grams. Still an awesome recording after all these years.
