this press sounds great but quiet, needs a lil eq for playing out, but overall solid, centered and clean press

A masterpiece in collection, even if this pressing, like the original version and the others reissues, is hissy in the high frequencies, on some tracks. Unfortunately, it seems due to bad settings during the recording session by the band. Definitely, this record really deserves a new mastering.

Music is of course fantastic.

But as mentioned by other posters before - you need tone controls to be able to enjoy it.
Also this is the only lp in my collection where I feel the need to add +5dB of bass.

I wonder how the original sounds.

Not sure about the OG record and the one from 2001 but this issue sounds like sh*t - high freqs messed up completely.

think P-Vine did a pretty good job with this one...they mention the master tape had issues, so that seems better than a needle drop...music is beyond dope.

c'mon P-Vine, move the production back to Japan and start doing better covers - the prices even in Japan compete with stuff that is of much higher quality!!!

My 2001 soul brother copy is also a bit hissy in the highs.

Still a very enjoyable listen and not one bit sorry i had to pay $80+ for it.
