- In my opinion, this is not one of the best Alan Parsons Projects outings. In fact, it is my least favorite. But I do love this pressing. It is very well done, one of the quietest LPs I own. It is very dynamic and has fantastic sound across the board. Production and mixing are exquisite, as you would expect from Mr. Parsons.
Instrumentation is great and the more I listen to it, it sinks in more, it just doesn't have the strong set of catchy songs most APP albums have. Soundwise, it is gorgeous - deep blacks, crystalline guitars and cymbals, thick bass, great vocals...just a wonderful recording. referencing Vulture Culture (LP, Album, Stereo) 25RS-239
First I heard it, then held it up to the light. Translucent Quiex II vinyl. 🙏referencing Vulture Culture (LP, Album, Stereo) 206 577
This is a German DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) pressing and sounds great. This DMM pressing sounds better than Europian/Holland/Scandinavian pressings because here is better balanced sound, more transparent and airy. Everything is better here.referencing Vulture Culture (LP, Album) ARI 90113
Here we have a soft pop-style album by APP and sounds very good. This is Scandinavian (Nordic) issue but pressing is made in Holland.referencing Vulture Culture (LP, Album, Promo) 206 577
Very nice lovely sound quality on this release, except for some sibilance on a few tracks. Pressing is great too.
I made a needledrop of one of the tracks from this vinyl record - You can find it on the right side in the videos - Under the name:

Solid album. I have other Alan Parsons Project's albums and not sure why people don't rate this one higher- Do I only have the impression that "Lets Talk About Me" occasionally lacks low frequencies or the bass? It sounds a bit like various traces have disappeared.

Absolutely no Prog left on this album, commercial arrangements on each and every song in the vein of Miami Vice or David Bowie's Let's Dance just like the last album...this is the synthesizer pop period (though not fullblown synth-pop) and why I haven't heard it until now, nothing like APP back in the day.
I'll never quite understand (or even want to) how a band starting out just as good as Goblin or Carpenter's music with the Poe themed debut would end up as a more high brow Duran Duran on the last two efforts (after this one). But I guess it was the times, even Van Halen went through a 25 year "break" playing pop music...must be a record much worse than Parsons. referencing Vulture Culture (LP, Album) ARI 90113
My guess is it's due to the rights permission (NCB). Regarding the rights, to me this is a Dutch release even if it's pressed for Scandinavia.
