Lee Moses – Time And Place

Very pleased with this pressing. Gatefold cover and artwork cover is cool too. The yellow splattered is not the best looking vinyl in my collection, but the sound makes it all good.

Great music and good mastering, but pressed on noisy green vinyl. Otherwise, it's a good reissue

I was able to find another copy of this locally and it sounds better. There is still a bit of surface noise but not as bad as the first copy I got and returned. Mastering sounds great. Bass is really full, sound stage is wide. Music is awesome. All in all an incredible album and this is a good copy to own.

I bought this today and promptly returned it because of the brutal surface noise across both sides of the record. It was mostly in the right channel but it was bad. I’m pretty good about what I can tolerate and I’m not a big stickler about this stuff but still I expect a 50 dollar record to sound better than that.

The mastering sounded good though I will say that. Great soundstage and mixing. Unfortunately the store didn’t have any other copies of this album so I had to exchange it for something else and can’t speak to whether it was just my version that stunk or if it’s common for this pressing.

I'm not sure why this 2LP set sells for so much given that all but one of these tracks (the single version of Time And Place) can be obtained on the two Future Days reissues (FDR 630 & FDR 635). Also, having compared both versions of the album, I can say that this Castle Music version has an inferior sound, too. The Future Days reissue has more clarity, and a much more pronounced bottom-end. (The extra tracks here sound pretty much identical to the "Singles & Rarities" release, however).

Lee Moses, as with many musicians of the 70s, should have been an R&B/Soul superstar. Vocal talents match Otis,JB & Percy. His guitar chops also impress. Check out his cover of “California Dreaming”. Another sad case of recognized talent after his passing.

My copy has different matrix runout than the one listed here.
It also came with a sign"made in poland"printed on the protective wrap.
The sound is clear and flat and very enjoyable!
No surface noise.

Flat & quiet pressing! Can’t compare with an original pressing- but sounds great IMO
