David Axelrod – Song Of Innocence

I’m listening to this now and I would not say this sounds bad or flat in sound at all. I’m sure it probably doesn’t do the OG justice, and it could be a little heavier on the bass but the mastering sounds decent, there’s a decent sound stage and I’m actually surprised at the amount of seperation between instruments. For the price, it’s not a bad budget friendly way to own this record. Of course I’ll keep an eye out for an OG but for now this’ll do!

Does anyone know the source used? Was this remastered from tape?

i have this album only as a cd and need a vinyl version for sure. this is an absolute stunning record and one, which is sampled the most. dope drums, funky grooves, cinematic orchestras, 60s psychedelic guitars, great production! a unique masterpiece and the best work by mr.axelrod in my mind.

Flat soundstage, harsh brass and without all the power and life of the OG. This is for sure cut from a file ...

This is a fine pressing. Clear, well-defined instrumentation, tight and clean bass, good timbre, quiet play. A good deal indeed.

Excellent pressing. It sounds awesome!! Honestly I was not expecting that. I strongly recommend this release.

Sounds great. I'm guilty, though. I spent oodles of money on this edition. Not a hundo, but still. Worth it because N-A bobbled all the other reissues and this is Axe's finest slice of Dark Muzak.

When your digging in your local Goodwill and an album pops out at you by cover art alone. Didn't know then who David Axelrod was, but I knew him via my love of the experimental Electric Prunes (Axelrod) albums and hip hop sample. Decided to take a chance and WOW was I in for a surprise. Amazing and I got an original Los Angeles pressing in NM condition. Beyond grateful for pure luck.

I love this pressing. A joy to kick back and listen to on my headphones. Superb!
