Pete La Roca – Basra

my pressing has white marks on it, seems like it's white PVC residue from a former press on the plant? it's not dust or paper pressed into the grooves, rather the white spots are deep within the grooves almost like a marbling effect.

Bought about a week ago, tick 5~6 time at B-1. Send back to Japanese tower records which I bought from.
Exact same tick on B-1, so it is what it is. Should I return again? Maybe not, as mater of fact. I want to listen one more copy
,so I can make surefor it.

No pressing flaws on my copy that I can hear. It sounds incredible honestly. Great soundstage and separation. On par with the handful of Tone Poet's I have. As far as the music is concerned, it probably goes without saying that every jazz fan should I own this.

This is a review of the pressing not the music. Fresh out of the shrink my copy sounds like a kids record from the dollar bin. The snap, crackle, pop is overwhelming throughout and as loud as the music in the track breaks. Even worse are the distortion squeals that pop up on side B. Can not recommend this pressing.

A wonderful and exotic sounding record. Great pressing and excellent sound quality. And of course Lazy Afternoon is a stone cold classic.

This may be my favorite Jazz record, def my favorite Joe Henderson date and Pete’s drumming! Wow! This is just a phenomenal date! My pressing is perfect and this like all my BN 80s sound great. So good I picked up an extra copy... enjoy!

I had to return my copy twice. The first one had a mark that causes a tick on about twelve spins on track B1. The second copy had a weird distortion on track B2. And don't tell me about mic overload on such a soft track. Now I'm hunting a japanese press as I don't believe in the "hit or miss vinyl pressing contemporary policy".
