Mastering and sound quality is quite average. Not better than a CD.
Despite of the fact that Prince was a trully genius, this reissue sounds fantastic, lovely sound for wonderful and amazing music...i can´t compare with the original but looking the prices of both editions(500€ vs 35€), i think the debate is close. Amazing packaging also.
If you see it, buy it.
A very nice pressing, though got mine with a bit warped 1st record!- Good to see I'm not alone! Just going through first listen and sounds just fine. Well done this time - credit where due! My original can be promoted to 'just there for good looks!'
Vor 3 Jahren bearbeitetC'Babi has done such a nice job, with this artwork. The little fat baby, playing the drums, is my favorite. He looks really cute and cuddly.
I'm not a fan of reissues, but this one is long overdue considering the original pressing is so rare and goes for $600+. It's my second favorite Prince album behind SoTT and this pressing does not disappoint.
Vor 3 Jahren bearbeitetI actually brought two copies of this album as I wanted to frame the cover as I adore the artwork and I have to say both copies play flawlessly and they music comes to life on Vinyl. It is worth every cent in both audio and visual as it is beautiful to look at and the music is superb.- I compared(only 1 song) this pressing to the original pressing and I have to admit that this pressing is pretty good and now I can actually play this record without worrying wearing out the original pressing .
- I received my copy last Friday, I can after entire listening that my copy sounds perfect and the album is totally amazing, Prince was a real genius!
- Sony has done it right this time (which is not the case with some of other Sony Prince re-releases). But I had to return my copy anyway because of pressing default on side C. Now it's perfect. Nice dynamics and bass.
