- Exceptional pressing. I closed my eyes I imagined Jimmy was playing in my room for real. Definitely a must.
- So this is soul jazz, right ? And this guy is called Jimmy Smith ? Wow, just wow. Good pairing with Turrentine. Burrell plays on only two tracks. The title track is so groovy ! Well, my copy is flawless. Top notch audiophile quality. Don't miss this music.
- Really strange…brand new right out of the sleeve, my copy looks terrible, visually it appears scuffed on both sides, yet it doesn’t seem to effect the sound quality, oddly enough it sounds fantastic.

Turrentine sounds like he's popping out of the left speaker.
So glad they reissued this one. Pressing is excellent, 180 g dead silent vinyl. Mine had only the lightest haze of scratches, not enough to be concerned. I have seen that when sealed records are stacked too deep or compressed between other records, they get these surface scratches while still in the shrink.
Recommended. - clean , flat and quiet
i mustve lucked out ?
sounds incredible , i have yet to be unimpressed with a blue note classic , such an affordable way to build a quality jazz collection.
looking forward to the new ones later this month - Another amazing sounding reissue from Blue Note.
I bought several records both from the Classic series and the 80th series.
NEVER had a issue. They just sound dead silent and the mastering and pressing are just amazing.I agreed with the poor paper sleeves but now they changed it.
I think all the complaints I read here and all around are just RIDICULOUS or at least SUSPICIOUS... - Further to my previous comment i thought id experiment a 4th time with this specific LP. It is now 3 out of 4 non filled and 4 out of 4 looking like well used records ive got from the 50s and 60s. Did all the Rainbo staff take over at Optimal or what? 75% defective rate here (arguably 100% counting the scratches) is embarrassingly bad. Optimal used to be good! They need to go back to pressing less and getting it right rather than taking the Michael with their careless perhaps non existent QC
