RSD is wild. I thought for sure, even getting in line early, that this would be one of the ones I wouldn't end up getting, so it was a real surprise that the jazz albums in general had not been touched. The fact that this is still available for under-retail while people are practically auctioning off their organs to get Taylor Swift is... something. At any rate, other than the paper sleeves (which I recommend just cutting down the middle and not even sliding the records out), this is a real delight. Just an all around great set.

Brilliant record, omg.. I got this chiefly for Harold Vick and he does not disappoint! Seriously this is one fantastic live recording!!!

The Lp's themselves were very decent. Flat and excellent frequency response. Stellar pressing. As others noted, the Lp sleeves are cheap paper.... At least the records come out easy - so straight into high quality poly liners for me at least.

The cover is also decent enough, but not anything to write home about. The booklet is a decent bonus. I would rate it a 9/10 only because the paper sleeves are such a horrible way to save a few cents. This is a pricy item but I am very happy with it.

Edit: I read now that the previous Pepper Adams release was plagued wtih inner sleeves leaving glue on the vinyl. I am now GLAD that they just used simple paper for this one. Easy for me to replace that with something decent...

Album sounds fabulous - beautifully mastered and very natural sounding live capture. A very easy to listen to and enjoyable session! Liner booklet explaining the session and musicians (with photos) is a nice addition and the gatefold is sturdy and of high quality both in print and tactile feel. 180g records spun flat and were very quiet but had some post manufacture debris and suffered from some minor scuffing due to being housed in cheap paper sleeves (Grrrrr!) They needed a good wet clean (and were fine after that) Why is such a pricey and limited & numbered edition RSD vinyl release housed in those cheap and abrasive paper sleeves? FFS, would it hurt the label to invest a few extra cents and opt for poly-lined paper sleeves? Sheesh!

Great sounding record for the music and production. The outer sleeve feels and smells like it might be PVC to me.

Totally agree with the first comment. Phenomenal set. KG mastering is amazing. Maybe the best Harold Vick has ever sounded to my ears. The liner notes are INCREDIBLE. But they packaged this very special release in paper sleeves and even after cutting them out, mine are scuffed to hell. Playback isn't affected, but COME ON, this could have been a home run.

This one sizzles from start to finish! You can tell the musicians are enjoying themselves, and the extensive liner notes help explain why. Audio quality is quite good, and KPG’s mastering is great as always. My only complaint is that the records aren’t completely flat, but they still play fine.
