I find it a bit middy. Turn up the bass and treble, and then turn up the volume.

Excellent sounding and looking reissue. Nothing wrong with this one at all.

This version sounds very bland, sorry to say. Get a different one if you can.

This album will never leave the top play shelf in my stacks. It's an amazing construction of Americana. There have been PhD Thesis presented on this album, and complete annotated lyrics are online. I always enjoyed how the printed lyrics - often difficult to read in and of themselves over-layed in black on an underwater picture of the Beasties, in the inner sleeve - differed from the actual lines. The Dust Brothers & Beasties came together in just the right way and created an album for the ages.

My original issue was worn to death, this one will be in another 20 too. You should own this on vinyl.

Many people, myself included, were expecting more of Ill-style Rick Rubin beats, and were unprepared for the depths of the Dust Brothers. The very first time I was listening to this album it was in the middle of Johnny Ryall and I was sitting there with a confused look my Mom burst in my room with a big grin on her face and said "What's this noise?"
