Top 25 Best-Selling Records on Discogs in March 2023

The March 2023 best-selling records list has arrived! Below, you’ll find the latest albums from Depeche Mode, Gorillaz, and Lana Del Rey; popular reissues; and records from artists that recently made headlines.

Depeche Mode had an incredibly impressive month. Their Ghosts Again 7-inch single and two pressings of their new album, Memento Mori, all cracked the top 10. With this new album and supporting tour dates around the world, fans have been eager to grab the latest music from one of electronic music’s most legendary acts.

Lana Del Rey’s Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd also made the top 10. This particular pressing features limited-edition green vinyl and alternative artwork.

A zoetrope picture disc and a neon purple version of the new Gorillaz album Cracker Island both made the top 25 in March 2023.

Reissues of classic albums continue to be hot sellers in the Discogs Marketplace. A 2016 reissue of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon, a 2011 pressing of Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream, and a 2013 edition of Massive Attack’s Mezzanine all proved once again that classics never go out of style.

Recent headlines helped certain records become best sellers in March. Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII appearance generated some extra buzz around the recent reissue of Anti. The deaths of Wayne Shorter and Bobby Caldwell in March inspired fans to collect their music. A Bobby Caldwell 7-inch from 1979 and an album from 1980 both ended up among the month’s best-selling records. A reissue of Wayne Shorter’s iconic Speak No Evil also found its way into many new collections last month.

It’s also worth noting that the Bobby Caldwell 7-inch is one of three best-selling records from March that is heart-shaped. You’ll notice a couple more vinyl hearts when you look at the Taylor Swift and Snail Mail records featured below.
