Top 25 Best-Selling Records on Discogs in May 2023

The best-selling records list is back and it includes modern pop phenomenons, live albums, and an album that ended up on the list twice as the world reacted to the death of Tina Turner. 

Taylor Swift’s latest Record Store Day release, Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, tops the list as fans continue to search for copies after April’s RSD event. Lana Del Rey’s most recent album has been ending up in tons of collections since being released in March, and the green vinyl variant with an alternative cover continues to be a fan favorite on Discogs. 

Live albums from Stevie Nicks, The Grateful Dead, Van Halen, The 1975, and Pearl Jam all made the best-selling list for May 2023. Two different versions of Pearl Jam’s Give Way cracked the top 25. Fans just can’t seem to get enough of this live album that features songs recorded at an Australian concert in 1998. 

As people across the globe reacted to the news of Tina Turner’s death, music fans turned to Discogs to pick up a copy of one of Turner’s most beloved releases. Two different pressings of Private Dancer from 1984 made the top 10 in May. As people continue to celebrate Tina Turner’s extraordinary life and career, a whole new generation of fans will continue to discover her work.
