Top 25 Best-Selling Records on Discogs in September 2023
The September 2023 best-selling list includes releases from Talking Heads, Slowdive, and Jimmy Buffett.
The September 2023 best-selling list is full of classics, new albums, and records that honor the lives of musicians who are no longer with us.
Two different versions of the Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense both claimed spots in the top 25 last month. These particular pressings are 2023 reissues that feature the entire concert recording on vinyl for the very first time.
Slowdive’s Everything Is Alive landed a spot in the top five as fans on Discogs couldn’t get enough of the shoegaze legends’ latest effort. The new release also inspired fans to pick up a 2011 reissue of the band’s incredibly iconic sophomore album, Souvlaki.
In September 2023, the music world lost Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell and singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett. As fans mourned their loss and honored their legacies, they ordered Smash Mouth’s debut album enough times to put a 2022 reissue of Fush Yu Mang in the top 10. They also collected enough Jimmy Buffett records to claim six spots in the top 25 for the Mayor of “Margaritaville.”
Additional noteworthy releases include a 1989 European pressing of Phil Collins’ …But Seriously, Mac Miller’s NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert, and a new deluxe edition of Pharoah Sanders’ Pharoah.
