The Best-Selling Records on Discogs in September 2024

Dig into the best-selling records of September 2024, featuring releases from Fontaines D.C., Nala Sinephro, Oasis, Frank Ocean, and more.
In September, a grab bag of records topped the Discogs best-selling list. From 1980s Japanese jazz-fusion to Detroit techno, record collectors filled their shelves with eclectic selections.
Among the top 25, only two new records released in September made the list (not counting reissues): Nala Sinephro‘s ambient-jazz record, Endlessness, and Jamie XX‘s long-awaited return, In Waves. Collectors still seem interested in August releases as well. Fontaines D.C.‘s Romance and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds‘ Wild God made the top five despite not landing as high on August’s list. However, it’s Jack White‘s No Name, surprise-released in mid-July, which remains the best-selling album of the month for the second consecutive time.
Other best-selling releases of September include Masayoshi Takanaka‘s The Rainbow Goblins, Glass Beams‘ latest two releases, Mirage and Mahal, and Michael Jackson‘s Thriller. Explore the best-selling records of September below.

No Name
Jack White
2024
Initially released as unmarked vinyl included with purchases at Third Man Records, Jack White officially released physical formats of No Name at the beginning of August. Ever since, it’s remained on the best-selling rundown at Discogs. The unconventional approach to album release is yet another way that Jack White has been able to shape our listening and collecting habits.
#2
Romance
Fontaines D.C.
2024
On Romance, Fontaines D.C. decided to zag. Shifting from their Irish take on punk to a record inspired by Akira, trip-hop, and Italian cinema, the band’s latest album is their most fully realized. Nearly a month after its release, Romance has found a reliable home in the best-selling records chart.
#3
Endlessness
Nala Sinephro
2024
As the album name suggests, Nala Sinephro’s sophomore effort for Warp Records, Endlessness, conjures dream-like atmospheres gently pushed along by jazz sentiments. Featuring an all-star cast, including Nubya Garcia, Sons of Kemet‘s Natcyet Wakili, Black Midi‘s Morgan Simpson, and more, Sinephro’s ambient-jazz masterpiece makes a solid case for album of the year contention.
#4
“The Final Frontier”
Underground Resistance
2024
Since 1989, Detroit techno legends Mike Banks and Jeff Mills have been serving militant, driving records with the Underground Resistance Collective. In the three decades since its founding, the group has gained international recognition and a swath of new members willing to carry the banner.
Banks’ “The Final Frontier” is one of the most cued-up acid tracks ever. Known for its resonant, biting synths over distorted drums, it’s a certified staple. Fans have been rushing to own this new reissue, as older versions fetch hefty price tags
#5
Wild God
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
2024
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ latest, Wild God, showcases Cave at his most joyous. Dirty Three‘s Warren Ellis stirs up bright, washing instrumentals while Cave takes control, belting prayer-like lyrical passages. The triumphant return has earned critical marks and resonated with listeners as it closes out this month’s top five.
