Top 25 Most Expensive Items Sold on Discogs in March 2024

From a Def Leppard fan club exclusive to a 7-inch single by The Velvet Underground that broke sales records, these are the most expensive releases sold on Discogs in March 2024.
The most valuable releases sold on Discogs in March 2024 include psychedelic rock rarities, highly collectible box sets, and the priciest 7-inch single ever sold on Discogs.
Mind-altering psychedelic rock records from Trikolon and Damin Eih, A.L.K., and Brother Clark both made the top 25 most expensive list in March 2024. Although both albums have been reissued, serious psych collectors are willing to pay top dollar for the original pressings.
Box sets once again made the most expensive list with limited-edition releases from Ozzy Osbourne, Genocide Organ, and Def Leppard selling for large sums. The Ozzy collection has been on the list many times, but the other two are a little harder to come by.
The Genocide Organ release features a metal and concrete box that was supposed to be limited to 30 copies, but according to the database, the effort and expense put into each ended up capping the variant at only 18 copies.
Limited to 1,000 copies, the Def Leppard 2-CD set featured here features a mahogany box and steel plectrum. Originally, the only way you could purchase a copy was through the official Def Leppard fan club, which means secondhand copies have become highly desirable.
The most expensive list for March 2024 also boasts one of the most jaw-dropping sales Discogs has ever seen. A promo copy of The Velvet Underground’s debut single sold for the astonishing price of $30,000. According to the database and comments attached to the listing, the sleeve for the promo 7-inch was never released commercially and less than ten copies are known to exist.
With such a hefty price tag, this record has claimed its place as the most expensive vinyl single ever sold on Discogs and one of the most expensive records of all time. That’s why the seller agreed to hop on a plane, fly with the record, and hand-deliver the single to its proud new owner.
