Top 25 Most Expensive Items Sold on Discogs in October 2022
This month’s most expensive releases include obscure soul 45s, rare test pressings, and the return of an iconic horror score pressed on “blood-filled” vinyl.
The monthly roundup of most expensive items sold is always full of surprises and the October 2022 list is no exception. This month’s most expensive releases include obscure soul 45s, rare test pressings, and the return of an iconic horror score pressed on “blood-filled” vinyl.
Soul singles from The Roman & Weston Expo, Lee McKinney & The Magnetics, and Noble And The Uptights all sold for big bucks in the month of October. Rare soul 7-inches are a staple of the most expensive list as most of these titles have never been reissued.
Highly collectible test pressings from Tool and Culture Club both sold for top dollar, with the Culture Club release claiming the top spot on the list. This one-sided test pressing features a song that was intended to be the third UK single from the album From Luxury To Heartache, but the release was canceled. The handwritten details on the A side label make this a true collector’s item.
With Halloween closing out October, it’s no surprise that one of the most sought-after horror soundtracks once again inspired a collector to dig deep into their pockets. This particular pressing of Henry Manfredini’s Friday The 13th score is filled with fake blood. According to the database, this liquid-filled variant is incredibly rare with less than 75 copies made available to rabid horror fans.
