The Best-Selling Records on Discogs This Week: January 10, 2025
This week’s best-selling albums include releases by Doechii, Daft Punk, The Warning, Billie Eilish, and more.
This week, the charts are dominated by rising stars and iconic reissues. Doechii takes the lead after a rapid surge, proving social media hype fuels large sales. Daft Punk‘s latest version of Discovery, which is the first reissue of the 2002 limited-edition Japanese pressing, follows closely behind with impressive numbers. Meanwhile, two RSD Black Friday drops — Billie Eilish‘s Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals) and the Warning‘s Error (404) — make unexpected appearances in the top five, despite dropping nearly two months ago. Also turning heads is a 1999 Latin-inspired house single from Those Guys, which saw a surprising spike in sales after New Years.
Other standout releases include Bad Bunny‘s 2024 reissue of Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana, the Rhino reissue of Dream Theater‘s sophomore effort Images and Words, and Taylor Swift‘s 2023 heart-shaped Live in Paris picture disc.

Alligator Bites Never Heal
Doechii
2024
There’s no denying it — Doechii is the moment’s “it” star. The 26-year-old Florida native has dropped several EPs, opened for major tours, earned Billboard’s Rising Artist award in 2023, and has several Grammy nominations to her name, but before December, she was relatively unknown to most. However, when NPR released the rapper’s vibrant Tiny Desk Concert, it marked a new era in her career and the signaling of a new in-demand artist.
For anyone who hasn’t caught the buzz, Doechii’s appeal shines through. With razor-sharp wordplay, overflowing charisma, tight ’90s-style flows, bold artistic vision, and, of course, growls, she commands attention. Her third mixtape, especially the lead single “Denial is a River,” showcases all these elements to perfection. Strap in — this ride is just getting started.

Discovery
Daft Punk
2024
What happens when you combine one of the most iconic albums of all time with stunning artwork from the animation studio behind Dragon Ball and One Piece, an obi strip, and a jaw-dropping gatefold design? You get the second-best-selling album on Discogs this week.
In December, Daft Punk dropped a vinyl reissue of the 2002 Japanese limited-edition version of Discovery, their 2001 megahit, for the first time. Since its release, copies have been flying off the shelves worldwide. This special edition comes packed with artwork inspired by the album’s accompanying Toei-animated film, a Daft Punk membership card, a four-page insert, and more. It’s a must-have for any of the group’s fans.

Hit Me Hard and Soft (Isolated Vocals)
Billie Eilish
2024
Billie Eilish emerged as the standout winner of RSD Black Friday last year. While many artists took a maximalist approach, opting for box sets, forgotten live performances, or limited-edition variants, Eilish took a different approach — she went smaller.
The singer, alongside her brother and producer Finneas, stripped away the instrumentals from her latest album, Hit Me Hard and Soft. What remains is Eilish’s unadorned vocals layered with reverb and delay. But this is far from a novelty record. Take “Wildflower,” for example. Even without its instrumentals, the track feels fully realized, as Eilish’s voice grows and swirls into a cyclone that peaks at the track’s climax.

“Sierra Leone / Do the Boogaloo”
Those Guys
1999
“Sierra Leone / Do The Boogaloo” by Those Guys is this week’s big surprise on Discogs, thanks to a spike in orders during the first few days of the year. Hailing from Baltimore, the duo — Teddy Douglas and Jay Steinhour — collectively known as Those Guys, released the double-sided single on the iconic Basement Boys Records. The record highlights Baltimore’s deep ties to Chicago house music.
The A-side, “Sierra Leone,” hypnotizes with its blend of tribal rhythms and house grooves, drawing listeners into a meditative sway. The B-side, “Do The Boogaloo,” a longtime club favorite, channels the nostalgic funk rhythms of its namesake genre, delivering a track as vibrant as it is timeless.
#5
Error (404)
The Warning
2024
For RSD Black Friday, Mexican trio The Warning treated fans to something special. The sibling band reissued their 2022 Lava Records debut album Error, adding live tracks never before heard on vinyl and offering two different colored records in one package.
Error (404) includes live versions of “Money,” “Evolve,” and “Breathe” from the band’s performance at Pepsi Center CDMX. This edition features two records — one blue and one red. For RSD Black Friday, the release was available only in stores on the holiday and limited to 2,000 copies, making it a rare find for collectors of the hard-rock band.
