Top 25 Most Valuable Items Sold on Discogs in May 2024

From the holy grail of Zeppelin collectors to rare covers from David Bowie, there are the most valuable releases sold on Discogs in May of 2024.
The most valuable releases sold in May 2024 include the holy grail for Led Zeppelin collectors, obscure Northern Soul singles, and rare covers of David Bowie’s The Man Who Sold The World. But Led Zeppelin’s 45 RPM Box Set stands out for its attention to detail, unique presentation, and obscured lore.
In July 2006, Classic Records released a Led Zeppelin 45 RPM Box Set consisting of 48 single-sided 12” records housed in a special Classic Records Road Case. Titles included on the box set included Led Zeppelin I, II, III, IV, Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti, Presence, In Through the Out Door, and Coda, with each spread out over either four or eight sides depending on whether the original LP was a single or double. All records are on Classic’s proprietary 200g Super Vinyl Profile for maximum playback fidelity, and according to legend, the label pressed less than 500 units before filing for bankruptcy. In May, a Discogs buyer spent $11,413 to attain this coveted piece of Zeppelin listening history.
Currently, there are three other copies of this release available for purchase in the Discogs Marketplace.
Elsewhere in May, rare records from Joy Division, Sun Ra And His Myth Science Arkestra, David Bowie, and Taylor Swift rounded out the top 25 most valuable of the month, not to mention a Deftones demo cassette. For the full rundown, keep scrolling.
