The Discogs Community shared their picks for the best angsty albums. The list was determined by how many recommendations each album received. If an artist was recommended multiple times for different albums, we featured the title with the most Collection and Wantlist adds on Discogs.
The following albums range in style from punk and funk metal to pop-rock and new wave. However, fast-paced rock from the 1980s and ’90s definitely makes up the majority of the Community’s favorite angsty music.
About the data: A survey of the Discogs community was conducted by email in Fall 2021. The final list was narrowed down by the number of recommendations for each album and an album’s overall popularity based on Collection and Wantlist data.
