Some scathing horn solos and conversations between vet sax man Helliwell and trumpet by Thornburg on a few tracks here. A gem album for those who felt shorted by much of the former album. One for those who favor Davies' vocals, jazz and blues influence for sure.

This is the last Supertramp studio album that may ever be released. It is a bit anti-climatic. The title track's OK, but then it's not as exciting. For the first time since 'Free as a Bird', Rick Davies dominates all the songs. On "Goldrush" he reunites with original guitarist and lyricist Richard Palmer-James (who later worked with King Crimson), though it's nothing like on the first album. This album leans towards jazz and blues as usual with Davies at the helm, though not like Steely Dan. It may be no wonder Capitol/EMI or any other major label in the States didn't pick it up, leaving the band to release it themselves in the US and Canada while completing their EMI contract in the old country. Then there would be the last tour (another is announced for 2010), and the band quietly split after that (as Mark Hart informed me once).
