American soul singer, songwriter, producer and arranger.
Married to Zelma Redding from 1961 until his death, father of Otis III, Dexter, Demetria and Karla, and cousin of Mark Lockett.
Influential figure for 60s American popular music and considered a seminal artist of Soul and R&B.
Of his compositions, best known are the hits Respect and (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay.
Inducted to Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 (Performer) and Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994.
