While I agree w/ a lot the previous reviewer posted, Dozzy (while having worked w/ Parker on DZR-003) shares qualities of other producers but is ultimately his own master. A blend of visceral psychedelia and deep house, it's no longer surprising for Dozzy to release ambient albums or blistering tracks for around 2AM; frequently in the same year. What ultimately disassociates Dozzy from others, specifically in today's climate, is his music's optimism even when it shares tinges with the darkest hours. His music has an essence that the timeless records of electronic music often have in not overplaying or cutting short the material: It's music from deep under the lake, not on shore wishing to be there. Whether it is his own solo work, Voices from the Lake or material w/ Nuel in Aquaplano, Dozzy is quintessential.
Recommendations: DZR-000, "K," "Donato Dozzy Plays Bee Mask," "The Aquaplano Sessions," Voices from the Lake, Resident Advisor 105 podcast, Electronique.it Podcast 200 - Roma, Labyrinth 2008 set serialized by mnmlssg & so much more.

Much respect to Dozzy for creating his own brand of deep, atmospheric, airy techno. Since 2004 Donato has been one of the most consistent producers of real bonafied techno. Never sold out and kept true to himself and his sound. Anyone who's just discovering his music would be well served to add every one of his original productions to wishlist. If I had to recommend a few to start, I'd suggest "Metal Slave" and "Time Out The Gap". When it comes to creating genuine deep techno atmosphere this guy is a master.
Update: I made a bit of mistake when I posted this one year ago. At the time I didnt know anyone besides Dozzy and Nuel who were doing this style of techno. I do however have to pay homage to Mike Parker because after listening to some of Mike's back catalogue I realized that he pioneered this sound starting all the way back in 1997. Granted, Dozzy's material still has its own unique flavor but there are many obvious connections between Mike and Dozzy's sound, so I have to venture a guess and say that Mike was a very big influence on Donato. Great music from Parker, Dozzy, and Nuel. Loving every minute of it.
