Oh, I am the first to comment on this fine label ? A pleasure! I am buying records from OVUM for roughly 10 years now (actually even longer). The first tune i heard from Josh Wink was LIQUID SUMMER on the !k 7 Compilation by Dave Angel. That was in 1994 and Josh Wink had his break through with that LAUGHING track (what was it called ? ) anyway we all know that one and about Josh's Love for the 303 and besides hardfloor he is arguably the most talented producer to use it. As a label owner he also has a fine hand for smooth and deep Tunes. Just check out the Scuba EP or Boo Willimas early recordings like 'Mistic Jazz' or Pete Moss - 'Late Night Up North EP'. Since then there hasn't past a year, when i didn't buy a fine 12" on this fine label. Maybe he kinda lost touch with the in sound for a minute, but i always bought Josh's own Neo Acid Tunes like FREAK or 'Fill Me With Acid', that kept OVUM strong over the years. Not to forget the stuff by Steve Bug and David Alvarado. Recently he grabbed gold with Danny Chatelain and Loco Dice.
Sinnce 2 years the great tunes kep on arriving every few weeks it seems : QUALITY is the only rule here and what is very important : that each Tune sounds absolutely wicked on a big Club System.
