This was the first conecpt album composed by Danny Wolfers I discovered.
I am a Legowelt fan since about ca. 15 years, but I think this one is the greatest work I ever discovered from Danny Wolfers.

*** Rough description ***

If you are interested in very dark, atmospheric 70s/80s movie soundtrack style synth music you should take a listen! Attention: this is no dance music, not suitable for clubs (!) It's all – in my personal oppinion – about weird mindblowing imaginary movie score.
...respectively a score to a real event happened in the 80s/90s – most of you will know the name Manuel Noriega – military dicator and - perhaps - drug lord, mass murderer. And/or respectively a victim of the US secret service.

*** A little track selection and my associated imaginary movie ***

Please note that I know the real Noriega story only by lexicon and of course I can not say what therefore has really happened and if Noriega is more monster or more victim of an U. S. conspiracy – this is only my INNER MOVIE to this concept album!

01. Capitan Ortega: Manuel Noriega reaches for the power. The U. S. and the western states notice that there’s something going on in Panama.

02. Rain Season: Overflight about wet and foggy jungle landscapes and Panama City. Feeling of insecurity.

04. Darien Gap: I can nearly FEEL the inhospitable, dangerous jungle landscape, dark, nebulous commanders, men who be kidnapped and dead bodies throwed in the swamps.

05. Avianca: major drug and weapon deals take place on the background of secret, beautiful tropical bays.

10. Lunar Maximus: The united states put all options on the table. In Panama, more and more people dissapear. Noriega walls in his self.

11. Invasion: Suddenly countless U. S. Sepecat Jets and Black Hawks turn up in the night skies, scattered throughout panama. Thousands of U.S. special forces proceed against the Noriega army, by the way discovering torture camps, underground prisons and drug hidings. Noriega tries to escape with his closest circle and security Gorillas.

*** Similar works by Danny Wolfers ***

Supsequently I also discovered other concept albums by Danny Wolfers, which I also call masterpieces. You will maybe also like these works if you like THE RISE AND FALL OF MANUEL NORIEGA:

Franz Falckenhaus - My Cold War Stories
Franz Falckenhaus - The Europa Judgement
Klaus Weltman - Cultus Island
Phalangius - The Cambridge Library Murders
Smackos - The Age Of Candy Candy

I always felt attracted to in 60s/70s/80s movies – mainly horror and thriller, and I adore their synth movie scores. I guess the aforementioned concept albums have been inspired by movies like this.

*** Soundtrack examples among many - listen to it on youtube for instance ***

David Cronenberg - Videodrome (Soundtrack by Howard Shore) - for example Track 02
David Cronenberg - Scanners (Soundtrack by Howard Shore) - for example Track 08

John Carpenter - Assault On Precinct 13 - mainly Track 01
John Carpenter - Prince Of Darkness - whole soundtrack
John Carpenter - Big Trouble In Little China - whole soundtrack
John Carpenter - The Thing (Soundtrack by Ennio Morricone) - for example Track 08
John Carpenter - They Live - for example Track 07
John Carpenter - The Fog - mostly the main theme
…and many other Carpenter works

Dario Argento - Tenebre (Soundtrack by Goblin) - for example the main theme

George A. Romero - Dawn Of The Dead (Soundtrack by Goblin) - whole soundtrack

Lucio Fulci - Woodoo (Soundtrack by Fabio Frizzi) - for example the main theme
Lucio Fulci - City Of The Living Dead (Soundtrack by Fabio Frizzi) - whole soundtrack
Lucio Fulci - Manhattan Baby (Soundtrack by Fabio Frizzi) - whole soundtrack

Ruggero Deodato - Cannibal Holocaust (Soundtrack by Riz Ortolani) - whole soundtrack, except the main title

William Lustig - Maniac (Soundtrack by Jay Chattaway) - whole soundtrack

Peter Weir - Last Wave (Soundtrack by Charles Wain) - main theme

Don Coscarelli - Phantasm (Soundtrack by Fred Myrow, Malcolm Seagrave) - main title

How I love these movies and their scores…and Danny Wolfer’s imaginary soundtracks! I would love to hear them on real movies! Thank you.

I hope my english was halfway comprehensible.
Salutations from Germany.
