Reviews
- I cannot understand the negative reviews, regarding to the mastering/mixing? I own a fairly good stereo set-up, being able to listen into the recordings. Imo, this release sounds better, than my older pressings (2.3.), when talking about the overall low freq. and this time, without any boom effect in the lower regions. I´m pleased with this issue, and the Esher recordings, is a great thing to also have.
- Just added a 4th variant which is really early!
All sides are from the 1st lacquer, side 1, 3 & 4 used the 1st mother with side 2 using the 2nd mother and side 1, 2 & 3 used the 6th, 4th & 5th stamper with side 4 using the 18th stamper. Also happens to be my best sounding stereo press just beating out my early 80s Holland stereo press.
Matrix / Runout (Side 1, variant 4): YEX 709-1 P 1
Matrix / Runout (Side 2, variant 4): YEX 710-1 M 2
Matrix / Runout (Side 3, variant 4): YEX 711-1 O 1

This listing should be split into two separate releases because the copies with the A34/B35 deleted mastering are much rarer and more valuable than the rest.- This was the first Beatles album I bought in the vinyl format, before this I was buying cassette tapes. I bought it in the summer of 1974 with money saved from my Saturday job. There was a slight disaster that happened to the album, I had taken it to a party, crazy idea, but it survived that only to be left in the back parcel shelf of the car I was travelling from the party in. When I retrieved the album the next day I realised that the sun had slightly altered the shape of my precious vinyl! It could still play but only just so crestfallen, I put it on the shelf and reminded myself never to leave vinyl records in a car again! A few years later I bought another copy of The Beatles, a USA Capitol release, purple label, and my French pressing remained in the shelf where, over time, it flattened out a fair bit. Once I realised this I began to play it again and sold the US copy. It will remain the most treasured album in my collection for the history behind it, which I hope you have enjoyed reading!
- I have a stereo copy with no EMI on sides A and B only, but it’s in a Mono jacket without the Stereo reference on back cover. Low number in 12,000s. Does anyone know if early Stereo pressings came in Mono jackets? Does not look to have been switched as condition of both media and jacket are NM.

- The other oddity on this reel-to-reel copy is that While My Guitar does not fade out and we hear the song come to a complete end. Fascinating stuff! Wish these rare mixes would be released again, but I'll eventually get a copy of this for myself.
- Edited 24 days agoof all the beatles remixes so far this is my favorite one it truly sounds great it’s got a really strong but coherent base presence and real solid separation musically speaking it’s also top notch one of the best albums ever made a worthwhile purchase for someone wanting to avoid the gamble and high price of a different release if your looking for a more traditional sound the 2014 mono is your best bet and anyone looking for that “check this shit out” version should seek a capitol mastered white vinyl version from 1978 they’re very cool and sound fantastic
- Edited one month agonice to see it on one single cartridge most other releases on 8 are 2 🙂🙃 AND they managed to not cut any of the tracks which is a feat; date of release unknown but we can be sure it is 70s first UK 8-track was in 68 but few were released at first so 70s is most likely
