U2 – Wide Awake In America

This is a little gem. U2 fans need to have.

From '85, four nicely chosen live tracks from the Unforgettable Fire tour. Old school fans will tell you "Bad" was the band's "With Or Without You" prior to Joshua Tree. It is beautiful and stirring, especially live.
I love the Brian Eno production, however, noting U2 is one of those bands that sounds even better live than on their highly polished studio releases. Under A Blood Red Sky is a must-have too, btw.

Gorgeous recording and mixing here. Great pressing and just really enjoyable full sound overall. Bass is very prominent.

Four stars. Recommended.

Just picked up a sealed copy today and I must say it’s phenomenal! The performances and mastering of this pressing are flawless for me at the right price. Bernie Grundman magic on this one… nuff said!

I have a gold embossed promo copy---has anyone one else?

Great pressing, well balanced and clear. Much better then the new remastered version.

Just a note, but photo 2 clearly shows a different catalog number: A1-90279 instead of the 90279-1-A, and this copy also has a shorter copyright string at the bottom of the back cover.

Anyone know of an Irish pressing of this, I have one here translucent (Brown) with bright light and Text on label is white(ISH) and in the same style as other Irish pressings from pressing plants of the time, (Font not as sharp)

Is 7 90279-1-A on the spine? That's what mine has, and simply 90279-1-A on the back cover.

This pressing is very quiet and sounds great. Most likely not from the analogue master, but still really enjoyable. Also, comes with high res download in wav format.
