Texas – Southside

I compared the OG US, this OG Canadian, and the Simply Vinyl remaster. The SV and US are similar. Both sound OK. But this Canadian Vertigo sounds slightly better than those. There is a bit more punch and clarity in the Vertigo.

I haven't heard an OG UK LP, but the UK 12" EP of Thrill Has Gone sounds better than all of these. Perhaps because it is a 45rpm 12", perhaps it is better mastering (the EP was cut by Pounda, Geoff Pesche, who also cut the UK LP), or perhaps a better tape was used for the UK pressings. Curious if anyone with the UK LP and other pressings can comment...

An excellent aurally pleasing slice of late 80s bluesy pop-rock-R&B with memorable hooks & melodies, strong haunting female vocals, good songwriting & generous servings of good old fashioned roots rock guitar riffs from little known Scottish band.
Impressive southern rock/R&B effort.

Quite an engaging album. Full round sound (eighties) with catchy tunes. The slide guitar makes the difference here and lifts up the music into a sliver of Americana.

great album and surprisingly very good pressing for an Australian press!
