Pat Metheny – From This Place

My European pressing is of excellent quality. Flat, no crackles at all and wonderful dynamic sound.

I have now tried 2 vinyl (european) pressings nd they are both hopeless. low grade vinyl, crackles all over this place, scratches, just abysmal. Can anyone comment further and does anyone have a US pressing that they can comment on? If so, is the US pressing ok?

I would also like to say, that after 45 odd years of musical mastery, this album is an absolute masterpiece. It's amazing how Metheny continues to make contemporary jazz sound fresh again, with his tell-tale style. For anybody interested in Pat's music or Jazz in general a must buy on vinyl. My pressing sounds perfect, huge soundstage, great mastering with plenty of headroom for turning this up loud. Would have preferred a gatefold with some nice inner artwork, but there's an insert, and the discs are high quality as is the sleeve. I would also love to see his other masterpiece from 1996"Imaginary Day" pressed on vinyl, long overdue and needed--

This album is a masterpiece. Unfortunately, the vinyl release I received was flawed. Many tracks have a kind of hiccuping fadeout, and the levels seem compressed and muted, such that I have to turn up the volume quite high to get a reasonable level. Much detail is lost from the digital release, much more so than one might expect. Perhaps I received a faulty album, but I would recommend buying this on CD, not vinyl.
