One of the very greatest trance tracks. It’s hard to put into words just how good a production it is. Often when you hear a tune you find yourself thinking this or that could be tweaked but Gull is utterly flawless. There isn’t a single thing to change about it. It’s pure, beautiful crystalline emotion. Regardless of musical persuasion, it would be hard to find someone unmoved by this piece of music. It’s a great shame that Jon Horrocks died so young. He was an immense talent and Gull is his legacy. RIP.

The trance fraternity lost a good man when Jon tragically committed suicide in 2001, he had the uncanny knack of being able to conjure up magically trance tracks, this being his magnum opus and this was truly cained in 1999 most notably by Mr Paul Oakenfold (i heard him play this @ Homelands, he brought it out of Orkidea - unity...another great track).
Alongside lee Milleare they produced many memorable tracks under the name Amethyst, the best two being krakatoa and Futura again played by Oakey but also features on sasha and digweed epic 6 hour independence mix 1996, lovely piano line on krakatoa ;)
Many happy hardcore heads might of heard Jons releases in his other guise as Quest, the track yin yang was the last track on dougals mix on bonkers 6 (a personal fav), images of you was played many times as the last track by hixxy, sy, vibes etc throughout 1998
R.I.P. Jon

Could not agree more with Kevross81 simply a Total trance tune.
If anyone knows of a better track I want to hear it 😁

Quite simply, a masterpiece.
This is one of the finest trance tracks you will ever hear.
It conjures up so many emotions throughout the hypnotic melody and crisp production. I love everything about this tune.
John Horrocks was a wonderful producer who also produced under 'Amethyst' and 'Polaroid.'
I believe he tragically committed suicide and as a result the trance scene lost one of its brightest talents. Such a shame!

Jon Vesta - Gull is a track that was made famous during Paul Oakenfold's Essential Mix at Gatecrasher Lotherton Hall on 19/6/1999.
Pete Tong yelled those famous words "NICE ONE BRUVA! I SAID NICE ONE" during the epic breakdown of this track.
"Gull" could be considered to be a classic progressive trance track, and it is highly recommended.
