What many people don't seem to know is that there is a copyright issue with the Stephenson Remix (which is incorrectly credited by the way; it should have been Stephenson & Santini). Which, sadly, means that this remix will never get the re-release on vinyl it deserves. It also explains the ridiculously high prices being charged for the vinyl that contains this remix.

I don't understand the hype about the Stephenson remix; maybe you had to be there to appreciate it? The Ramon Zenker (half of Hardfloor) remix is quite a pearl though; smooth and gliding at ~130 BPM with warm chords and a shuffling tech-trance groove, it has aged gracefully.

the "Stephenson" Remix is totally overrated - the original is so much better. I not understand how people pay 100 Euro for something like that.
the early 90thes brings many offer stuff which def more timeless as this three remixes :-)

          Funny fact:
Bonzai label manager Christian Pieters explains in a radio interview about how the Stephenson remix originated. The deal for the remix of Love is an Ocean was made for some time already, but Axel Stephenson and Frederico Santini (who is not credited but actually worked on the remix as well) delivered the track just in time to be shipped to Low Spirit... In the morning of the day it had to be shipped actually. Christian was curious about the track but did not have the time to listen to the tape so he packed it and sent it in the mail to Germany right away.
Then the record was released and Christian got totally frustrated and angry because he recognized the great quality and potential of the track immediately when he first heared it. If he knew beforehand he would have definitely released it on Bonzai Records and it would probably have been the best track on his label (in his opinion).

The "Stephenson remix" of "Love Is An Ocean" was one of those trance cuts that marked the Belgian clubscene back in '95.
Loads of people had a good time on this moody trancer.
It has a nice melody, with a fantastic trancy breakdown, containing a female voice...
Just buy this record if you find a copy, after 12 years i still love this record.

A shame that no one else has made a comment on these remixes. All three remixes are in their own league, but the Axel Stephenson remix is just utter genius. It is a very wanted classic, hear it once and you're inmediately addicted to its' wonderful arrangement & sounds. Highly recommended to any music lover out there!
