Survivors – Kagami

In my opinion, Survivors - Kagami is the ultimate Euro Trance tune. It shows off the genre excellently without being too cheesy and although not a vocal track, it does feature some beautiful Japanese female vocals to help enhance the atmosphere. For something in the Euro Trance genre, it's a little ironic that it has more of an oriental feel. But that's expected due to the title (which means "Mirror" in Japanese).

Fans who know the song no doubt know it though Jens O's Club Mix interpretation, which offers a beautiful atmosphere similar to Jens' remix of Symphonic - Bolero, if more on the oriental side. The Original Mix is an interesting look into the song's development, with a slightly different structure. It has more of an "Intro Mix" feel as the main chorus is introduced alongside the build-up of instruments. As for The Joker's Remix, it's actually more oriental, with further use of asian instruments and extra female Jap vocals, although it's overall sound is more similar to Jens O's Original Mix.

Whether you're into Euro Trance or not, this is definitely worth getting. It's a more mature kind of Euro Trance which brings forward gorgeous melodies rather than idiotic "turn it up, drop the bass" vocal samples found in other songs of the style. I was actually lucky enough to find it still being sold brand new last year on an online store! It really is an absolutely awesome release and I would say it's worth getting no matter how much it costs. The Jens O Club Mix alone is worth owning, but the accompanying mixes also make for great listening.
