Mostrar las 30 reseñas- I had quite a few Sasha 12"s back in the day but for some reason never bought this. I did see it quite a few times in record shops (either new or 2nd hand) but wasn't really that interested. 23 years later and I really want this record!
- Just wondering if anyone else finds these tracks and other supposedly euphoric proggy trance actually deperessing ? They actually effect my mood state to the point where I can't even listen to it. It's so saccharin, bland, empty.
- I've worked out location of 2/3 of the photos on the sleeves:
Main sleeve: Looking south-east from an area around the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art (SE from around 520 S Olive St).
Xpander/Belfunk sleeve: Intersection of Santa Monica Fwy and Harbor Fwy near LA Convention Center.
Rabbitweed/Baja sleeve: Unknown. - I remember going to the Homelands music festival (Winchester, UK) in the earlier 2000s and hearing Sander Kleinenberg finish his set with Xpander, before handing over the headphones to Sasha himself.
- This is just a hunch but I think the intro beats, listen to the crispy snare on https://www.discogs.com/Paperclip-People-4-My-Peepz/master/4511 were sampled for Xpander. If not then certainly influenced by and I read in an interview that Sasha is a big Carl Craig fan and this track predates Xpander by a year. As soon as I heard 4 my Peepz I thought those beats are killer and the track wasn't fast enough to be a huge track. Hats off to Sasha to getting there before I did haha.
