- So, what's the story of this having such apparent high value? It's nothing special of the era, plenty of other identical sounding M.I.K.E. mixes from around the same time have what could be called ordinary value. Plus the bit where Dierickx allowed Deruyter to play with the desk at the end there...
- Sure, Final Fantasy is a great track but why the hell did they put that phasing effect on at the end?
It's the kind of thing a young DJ would do when he first had a go on a DJM600. Not exactly the kind of thing you expect from a professional track.
Plus, of course, it makes it impossible to mix. - 2 of the biggest names in Belgian trance history, M.I.K.E. and Yves Deruyter come together for Final Fantasy, which in my book is their best work respectively. It awkwardly tapers off into a flangered effect at the end, but is otherwise a wonderfully structured track and it serves to be incredibly powerful. It's manages to strike a perfect balance between melancholy and uplifting. How they managed it, I've yet to discover. The B-sides are good as well, but it's hard to compete with Final Fantasy. What a tune...
- If trance was a religion, Final Fantasy would be simply be its holy sacred text.
This masterpiece is a complex mixture of pure joy and spirituality with one of the most (and simplest) melancholic synthriff ever created. - A good piece of trance played by Mark EG & M-Zone in 1999 (features on marks Absolute Hardcore cd) and (to many non English trance fans) Marusha @ Love parade in 1998 but...just look at the prices £127?? are my eyes deceiving me? its good but not that good!! Think i'll keep hold of my copy now!
- Edited 18 years agoFinal Fantasy is in my eyes one of the most impressive hardtrance tracks ever made. A good drive, massive break and huge climax. Makes me crazy every time I hear this.
