That depends on your local laws and regulations regarding minimum age to consent to processing of your personal data. In the U.S., the minimum age is 13. If you are below the minimum age in your jurisdiction, then please contact our support team right away.

never knew that the legal age to listen to music was 13 in USA xD that's a wired rule xD. I thought that you're allowed to listen to music any age i never knew there was a certain rule saying you must be 13 xD.

Anyhoot, sounds cool can't wait for these to take affect. Discogs is the greatest website i stumbled apon i thought Rateyourmusic was but then when i found Discogs i have found many new bands and artists so i thank discogs for that
  • kkuenz56 over 7 years ago

pgfhgaming not to be misunderstood but listening to music is a wonderful experience at any age, while "contributing" to music, especially in a refined database might be a tad bit more involved than some listeners would have knowledge of... including myself at times. For all kids sake.

    Hi,
at 57, I still cheerish the music of my youth. Playing my old albums brings back fond memories of days gone by. I believe the majority of mankind has a tendency to collect this or that...that's how we function.
I agree with Ali but jumping around the house with Zeppelin and flying with Floyd doesn't mean I haven't changed my views about our planet...all included.
  • E-Digga over 7 years ago

to those who didn't understand: the GRDP is made to protect your private life against missuses of your datas (the one you give to Discogs, like your name, adress, age, e-mail adress, phone number or musical taste, or how many records you buy each month). It doesn't say anything about the allowed age to suscribe or surf on discogs or any website. The allowed ages mentionned above are the legal ages (depending on each country's law) to consent valuably to the use of his own datas by discogs. No reason to be upset, even if your 10 years old. As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy to know Discogs won't sell my datas and I won't be overwhelmed by spams from the buyers of those datas. Thank you Discogs, and sorry for my broken English (feel free to correct my mistakes)

I think that like with any new law, there is a big fuss in the beginning, and after some time a new law has to be delivered to cover any loopholes used. Ethics are before the law and the law usually puts in writing the crop of ethics accepted by a general population. Of course in the last 60 years or so, (and before that since the dawn of time) strong influences, namely big businesses, tried to pull a trick by setting laws that had nothing to do with the generally accepted ethics, but only with their own interest. The fact that the laws passed have to describe in exhausting detail what they are supposed to do means that there is no public consent, otherwise there wouldn't be a need for them in the first place. So this new law actually binds the user more than the provider by clicking accept. Of course discogs have been the friendliest of sites in the internet world because it still has a human "face". Keep up the good work and be ahead of the laws, by being connected to people.
