They played recently in George Square in Glasgow and I go to knock two things off my bucket list,1.hearing them play 'Belfast' and 2.'Halcyon' live too.brilliant, memorable and proof that I'm not the only guy knocking on 40 who still wants to hear this live.there new album is great too.

Fantastic single-minded melodic 4/4, one of the most consistent 90s techno LPs and an absolutely huge leap from their debut album. The lush/impact/remind continuous sequence was something that no electronic album had really successfully done up until at point - capture the club experience in an artist album.

This particular release of the Brown Album fades out and back in again between Impact and Remind. According to Paul Hartnoll (via Twitter), this "makes it defective and I should ask for my money back". Have to say - while it's probably not as bad as ALL that - it is quite irritating - if you can get a different release that doesn't do this, then you should.

Overall, it's one of the best albums ever released, though.

This album wasn't titled "Orbital 2" or "Brown Album". It was titled "Orbital". Another title was "Gasp". (In the U.S. "Orbital 2" stickers was put on it.) The first album was titled "LP/CD/MC".

A great album in its day, the most essential Orbital album and a must have for any serious collector of Electronica - The whole thing plays like a mix tape, flows well, builds up and breaks down nicely. Some of it may sound a little dated now but the album really is a classic, there are some great tunes and it's worth obtaining a copy for the timeless, majestic, classic "Halycon + On + On" alone. I clearly remember the first time I ever heard the album version of this tune, where I was and who I was with. It still sounds fresh today.
