I just picked this up at Best Buy and immediately sat down to listen on my Vintage Dual turntable thru my AT M40X headphones. I have top quality amp and speakers, but wanted the first listen to be with a good set of cans. I guess I'm lucky because I don't have any of the pops or clicks that others are complaining about. Just cleaned it with an anti static brush before playing. The liners do leave a fair amount of specs on the records, so new antistatic liners are a must. The bass is very solid and deep. Highs are not overly bright and just right on the accoustical tracks, in my opinion. I recall buying the CD's back in the 80's and thinking the same thing in terms of not being overly bright, so I think it's how PF intended the mix to sound.

Sounds amazing. Packaging is very crisp and clean, just as the other Floyd remasters. Paid $42 new for it, very very happy with it. One of my favorite albums of all time, hearing it on vinyl for the first time like this blew me away!

Just picked up a copy on Record Store Day since I didn't have it in my collection and it was there at the store. Though I am very disappointed with the quality control of the records here, as popping is extremely frequent on all sides, even after cleaning. Worst of all, as soon as I took the second record out of its sleeve, I found that there was a huge gash of a scratch of side 3. It's a shame really, because from what I hear the mix for this remaster sounds amazing, but it sorta pisses me off that I paid $50 for these low quality and extremely fragile records. I have an original pressing of DSoTM from 1973 and it sounds better than this remaster that I just bought last week. Extremely disappointed.

Holy fucking background noise Batman. Side 2 starts with a repetitive popping, but luckily it stops when Gilmour's guitar starts. A little obnoxious, but tolerable. But then, holy hell side 3. After "Hey You" there's a constant whooshing distortion that persists until "Comfortably Numb" (which is full of sibilance). All this coupled with intermittent pops (some far louder than others) and a general low volume forcing you to crank it up, thus making the pops even fucking louder. When you can actually hear the music clearly it sounds absolutely fantastic, it's startling how dynamic the mix is. Unfortunately, all that's overshadowed by the prep time I'll need for the deepest record cleaning of my life (which might not even help). Maybe after that I'll like this pressing better, but as it stands I'm very disappointed.

I have this exact same release (double-checked all bar code numbers, labels, etc...), but my version does not have the text "Pink Floyd The Wall" graffiti on the front cover. It is only the white brick wall, just as the rear cover.

And the pressing is not as good as all the other remasters I have (PFRLP6/8/9/10/12, which are just amazing), as this one contains much static, even after multiple thorough cleaning through a vinyl washer and stored in MoFi sleeves.

Hmm, obviously a digital pressing. Nothing sounds like the 1979 promo. Well worth the price if you can find one.

Not liking it right now. Played a used Black Sabbath reissue, not sure if it was a remaster. Sounded great! Put The Wall on. Brand new. In the Flesh. Thinking it's gonna kick in all dynamic. Right away, I was thinking is this analog? Maybe to compressed? Sounds flat and dull. No dynamics either. Put on side 2 popping bad right away. Record has a warp. So, I think maybe I should try cleaning. I look at surface first and there's a scratch. So, I clean and turn it up. Levels seem low. Thinking it may be a little better. Hear crackling already. Used Japanese reissue of Animals blows this away! Do you have to clean a coating off these or something? They also need to give it nice audiophile sleeves. Cardboard scuffs bad. I may return and get a beat original for $15 less. Is there a break-in period? BTW, Sabbath was warped too. Hear this is an issue with new LP's. Not my pricey Japanese pressing.
